RoboVPS Germany Frankfurt Unlimited Traffic Standard Virtual Server Test and Review

We recently reviewed the RoboVPS server based in Frankfurt, Germany, which offers unlimited data transfer. This server uses a modern virtual processor (QEMU Virtual CPU version 2.5+) and comes set up with a solid mix of features: 4 CPU cores, 4 GB of memory, 60 GB of SSD storage, and a 250 Mbps internet connection. It also has one IPv4 address.

For our evaluation, we ran several tests: simple benchmarks to check basic performance, Yabs, and Unix Benchmark to gauge core metrics, and tests focusing on the network, such as the Global Node Test for a comprehensive network check and the Global Ping Test to measure response times.

Conclusion

Our initial Basic Bench results showed consistent I/O speeds, averaging 226.7 MB/s, demonstrating solid disk performance. Network speeds were impressive across various global locations, with the server maintaining high upload and download speeds with minimal latency. Specific results highlighted remarkable speeds in regions close to Frankfurt, while further locations like Tokyo experienced lower throughput. Moreover, the mixed read/write disk speed tests conducted by Yabs revealed even more impressive read and write capabilities, significantly notable with larger block sizes, pointing to a highly capable server for demanding tasks.

Our Geekbench 6 benchmark pointed to a strong single-core performance and even more robust multi-core processing power, ideal for applications that can leverage multiple cores effectively. The UnixBench scores further cemented the server’s capabilities, with particularly high index values in concurrently running shell scripts and context switching, suggesting excellent multitasking prowess when handling multiple simultaneous operations.

As for content accessibility, the Media Unlock Test yielded mixed results. While the server could access German-based services like Dazn and Amazon Prime Video, it fell short on several other international streaming services, suggesting regional restrictions play a significant role.
