Nube Cloud Hong Kong AMD EPYC Powerful Elastic Cloud Server Test and Review
We recently reviewed the Nube Cloud Hong Kong AMD EPYC Powerful Elastic Cloud Server (Plan: a3s.2c4g), which features an AMD EPYC 7713 64-Core Processor. The server’s specs include 2 CPU cores, 4 GB of RAM, 50 GB of NVMe SSD storage, a 1 Gbps internet port, and an IPv4 and IPv6 address.
In our evaluation, we conducted a series of tests. We started with performance assessments using the Basic Benchmark, Yabs, and Unix Benchmark. We checked network speeds across different locations with the Global Node Test and measured latency using the Global Ping Test.
To assess media accessibility, we used The Media Unlock Test. To evaluate connection quality, we conducted the CloudFlare Internet Test. Finally, we measured web performance with tools like PageSpeed Insights and GTmetrix.
About Nube Cloud
Nube.sh is a cloud service startup that offers affordable yet powerful Elastic Cloud Servers. They provide performant Virtual Private Servers (VPS) running on premium hardware.
Affordability: Their services are up to 60% cheaper than those of other leading cloud providers in comparable configurations. For instance, 1 vCPU on Zen 3 EPYC and 1 GB DDR4 RAM start from just $2.82 per month.
Performance: Nube.sh servers are equipped with the latest generation processors and high-frequency memory, offering blazing-fast computing. Their storage solutions are all-NVMe SAN clusters, providing lightning-fast data storage and retrieval performance.
Global Reach: Nube.sh has established computing nodes in Silicon Valley, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Johor Bahru1. They are planning to expand into more internet hubs in the Asia Pacific.
Security: In late 2023, they successfully thwarted a 1.6 Tbits/s DDoS attack. Their network is designed for fault tolerance and is built to defend against attacks.

Conclusion
Starting with basic benchmarks, the server’s I/O speed exceeded expectations, consistently recording readings around 1.5 GB/s, which is considered excellent. It was equally impressive in our global node test, showing high upload and download speeds, especially notable on Speedtest.net with upload speeds of around 9564.89 Mbps and download speeds of 9369.86 Mbps.
In detailed performance tests using Yabs, the server demonstrated strong abilities in mixed read/write operations. For instance, disk speeds in the mixed 50/50 read/write test showed between 487.03 MB/s to over 8 GB/s, depending on the block size, which again rates excellent. The Geekbench scores also impressed, with single-core results at 1716, indicating good CPU performance, and multi-core scores at 2946. These benchmarks showcase a robust processing capacity suitable for various demanding applications.
Further, UnixBench scores underlined the server’s capabilities, particularly in tasks like file copying and pipe throughput, which performed extremely well when scaled across multiple samples. The results substantiate the server’s suitability for high-performance tasks and simultaneous operations, thus confirming its powerful computational abilities and efficiency.
In conclusion, the Nube Cloud server demonstrated stellar performance across tests examining speed, processing power, and multi-tasking capabilities. Despite some performance dips in specific regional nodes, it’s an excellent choice for businesses looking for reliable, high-speed server solutions, particularly for data-intensive applications.
